Sudan is known for its diversity, multi ethnicity and African heritage. It is known for its different skin shades and hair textures. Afro, coily, kinky and curly are the most common types, these days women around the world are embracing their natural hair more than ever.
This positive change has helped me into creating my brand after an intensive research and long hours of work, to help my sisters out there to look their best while wearing their natural crown.
The Nubian civilisation in Sudan is an ancient one, (Ashri) is a Nubian word that means Pretty, hence the brand name Afro Ashri.
Being from North Africa, I have experienced the rituals of hair oiling since childhood, (Karkar) oil does wonders for hair. I have slightly altered its main ingredients for a better one, creating a hair butter that will suit most hair types and will meet the demands of today’s needs. Replacing animal fat with Shea butter and adding Chebe powder from neighbouring Chad, along with other ingredients that prompt growth and its rich in healing properties. Bringing to you, the Sudanese and Chadian hair culture in a jar, can be used on relaxed and natural hair, vegan friendly, cruelty free.
